Canadian Experience Class (CEC) — 2026 Work-to-PR Path

This program is designed for temporary foreign workers and international students with Canadian work experience who want to become permanent residents.

Core Eligibility for 2026

  • Canadian Work Experience: At least 1 year (1,560 hours) of skilled work in Canada within the last 3 years. This must be under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3.
  • Status: You must have had valid temporary resident status during your work period.
  • Language Ability: CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs; CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs.
Note: Work experience gained while you were a full-time student (e.g., on a co-op term) does not count towards CEC eligibility.
